1. Digest should get a new option - include/exclude NNTP forums. Some Usenet newsgroups are very heavy and adding these postings to the digest is too much! The digests will be very heavy and sometimes they can get uncensored messages, that's extremely bad!

2. We need to have a more flexible way to set the time to send the digests. The interval like 12-06 is not good enough. Also keep in mind that these are some servers hosting tens even not hundreds of YAF apps. If all of them start working at the same time... Id' prefer not UTC 0-6, but to be able to set this time myself.

3. I still cannot understand when exactly these digests are coming out and what sends them? Database scheduled task? If application, then there is a question. The app cannot be up and running 24 hours. If there are no users then after some timeout it will stop working. How digests will go out then?

1. Good idea.

2. I don't have a problem with this... could be a set time schedule.

3. I'm using what's available: background scheduling task from the web application. It's not ideal, but it's what's available.

Thanks for answering! I got a question. Is there any way to import the entire NNTP newsgroup or at least beginning with some date? I cannot understand how it works. On one hand I could guess that it downloads the latest messages, say, for last week or so. But the messages that I see downloaded were written 2-3 and more months ago. On the other hand there are tons of messages that the forum doesn't grab. How can we tweak these settings, is there any way to correct that on our side? Or everything is hardcoded right in C#?

And one more question about NNTP. In most cases all the messages are shown as separate messages ignoring the thread. Is it because some difficulties with binding them after they are downloaded? Same messages are shown as trees in Live Mail or in Outlook Express. There are two related problems - it's very inconvenient to track them down and read, and second - all these related messages are shown as separate ones, so all these topics are counted as different topics with no replies, and that breaks down the whole impression about these postings. It looks like all the people like to ask, but nobody answers, nobody supports the thread/topic, just creates a new thread/topic.
