On my install, sorting by name and sorting by joined date yield the same ordered listing (sorted by joined date)
Enjoy!

A murky issue because sorting works fine in my install. Some extra info could help to find a clue like :

- is display name field filled?.It should be filled.

- what is MS SQL Server version?

The problem can be in viewstates which are used to toggle sort order. But I run it in full trust with a hosting provider and it works fine even with other database engine. I think that if it's OK with display names column, the problem can be with DB encoding or unicode issues in LIKEs.

Sorry, I can't reproduce it on my dev server:cry: .

-We don't use display names, so they're probably unfilled

- MSSQL server version 2008, hosted at Arvixe

Enjoy!
