Seems to be a good way of showing registered users about who they should contact eg in case of problems...

How do I add members to the "Team"?

The list only shows "Administrators".

I am the only one showing in that list, even if I have 2 more moderators in the team (and one of them also has the Administrator Role together with Moderator Role)...

It would be nice if you could add any member with a comment of their "role", even if they are only "registered members".

Like:

User - YAF Role - Description of member function

aaaa - Administrator Owns the forum and administers the technical bits
bbbb - Moderator Watches the forum for bad posts & spammers
cccc - Moderator Watches the forum for bad posts & spammers + answers forum policy stuff
dddd - Registered Member Forum software evaluator from a user perspective
eeee - Registered Member Forum usage expert

I think the idea of Team is a great idea. However, it is now bound to Administrator. This is not how all sites work.

Also not mine. We have 1 administrator and a couple of team members who do specific work for the site. But we don't use special roles for the forum.

Therefore, I had to remove the 'Team' link from the YafHeader.aspx.

I would have prefered a kind of editor, where you can add members to the 'Team' and add comment to what there role is of the site.

Remember, that a forum is or might not be the most important feature or goal of the site.

Our target is geocaching and provide a lot of features for that, where some people help us out with various tasks. These tasks have nothing to do with the forum (like moderating and admin... we do not even moderate).

Again, filling the Team list with members and add a comment to it would make it useful for us. These people are just members, so no different rols within YAF.

It's a forum team. You have ranks and medals. Add it to you portal if you like.

YAF has customization service too if you need something unusual:

Look, I have always paid a contribution to YAF forum (here). It is an open source project with targets to provide a USEFUL forum for others. So, if someone has a feature request, you can either say:

- No, impossible

- No, not high enough priority

- No, I see problems with it

- No, whatever....

But pointing to a website that offers customization after paying a fee, I feel I contribute to a commercial company and will not report any bugs or feature requests any more. Just figure it out yourself and let people irritate by the bugs (which are not reported, so you don't know about)

More of replies you just give me and I am out!

(I hope I understood you wrong or you just made a mistake)

Please understand that I am a site owner and as a site owner I also get a lot of requests. Some requests are impossible or too time consuming or whetever reason why I am not implementing it.

But a site-owner cannot do without the knowledge of what users want. You don't make it for yourself only, but for your visitors.

So, when I post a message about a request or bug, I fully understand if the bug cannot be solved immediatly or a request being accepted. But a reply why it isn't accepted or that you know about the bug or whatever is appreciated ;-)

So, again thank you for your answer.

Do I have to "invite" them with the now working "Moderate" button???

Or can I do some quick DB table fix since my moderators moderate all forums?

2.I understand what you mean. Can't say right now, but I'll look into the code maybe tomorrow.

I currently have my own problems as just integrated YAF in my portal.
