can anyone explain the points system used in YAF.net? for which action do i get how many points? i could not figure out any explainable system.

The points system is an abomination, unfortunately. If I could go back in time I'd make sure that it was never added in it's current state. Basically, it's pretty useless... but no one has taken up modifying it because YAF, as it currently stands, it a big hassle to modify.
