Hi guys,

Having a little problem with the host settings. Upon choosing new options and clicking save, there seems to be no post back or any activity. When returning to the page after visiting another location all the defaults have returned.

I am using Yaf 1.9.3.3.

Thanks 🙂

Keep up the good work.

I've noticed the same thing. Sometimes it will pop up an alert that says "Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: An unknown error occurred while processing the request on the server. The status code returned from the server was: 500", but it doesn't save the settings.

I'm using the newest version of YAF 1.9.3.3 from the svn. Everything else is looking pretty good.

Is this working and we're the only ones experiencing this issue?

I've had the same problem, also using 1.9.3.3.

This happens every time you attempt to save Host Settings?

On my site, every time I try to change any of the host settings (on any of the tabs), I get "Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: An unknown error occurred while processing the request on the server. The status code returned from the server was: 500"

I have been editing the settings in the database table in the mean time, but that's a real pain because the changes won't take effect until I reset the website.

Checking the log Im getting the message:
System.Web.HttpRequestValidationException: A potentially dangerous Request.Form value was detected from the client (forum$ctl01$PMTabs$TemplatesTab$UserBox="

Seems to be as much info I can get from the event viewer....

Cheers,

That's pretty much what I'm getting:

Exception information:
Exception type: HttpRequestValidationException
Exception message: A potentially dangerous Request.Form value was detected from the client (forum$ctl01$PMTabs$TemplatesTab$UserBox="<yaf:avatar /><yaf😛..."😉.

Open up the default.aspx page and edit the "Page" statement at the top as such:

<%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" ValidateRequest="false" %>

Thanks, the ValidateRequest="false" fixed it. Side effect of not using the original default.aspx I guess.

If you're using ASP.NET 4.0 you may also get this error when posting back to "default.aspx?g=admin_hostsettings". This is due to the new request validation mode. The simplest approach to fixing this is to add the following to your web.config file:

<configuration>
<system.web>
<httpRuntime requestValidationMode="2.0" />
</system.web>
</configuration>

Of course, this simply reverts the request validation mode to that used in 2.0; you may prefer to instead modify ASP.NET 4.0's requestion validation configuration in order to explicitly optimize it for your application's needs.
