We are evaluating YAF for use for our internal staff, and seem to have hit a real issue.

It appears that it is not possible to copy and paste an image directly into a post. Sad

The Image button expects a URL, which is not much help if the image is on your local hard drive.

Clicking on the paperclip looked promising but we have been unable to get this to work. After reaching the browse box, we have tried both selecting files and dragging files into the drop zone. But nothing happens. (And we have made sure both upload and download are enabled for the forum)

Please recommend how we can solve this problem?

Users will not accept using the albums - that is way too clunky.

No, copy and paste and image is not support, only from an url or as attachment.

Can you check the browser console, if there are any Javascript errors when you select a file for upload? And also which browser are you using?
