We do not need the ShoutBox part on our forum. Can we remove it? Or at least move somewhere to the bottom?

You can disable it in your hostsettings.

Just uncheck the box for it and it won't show on the page.

Oops, maybe overlooked that...
Just found it in Administration » Host Settings » Display ("Show Shoutbox:" check box).

That's fine, but if we ever need it, can we move it to the bottom?

Is there a way to reorder the sections on the main YAF page?

But why you want to remove the shoutbox? Is there any problem?

I noticed that shoutbox calls ajax web-service every second. It's not normal.

It must if you want the replier to be instant. Maybe if you set the caller to be asynchronous that could improve performance.

The Value can be easily changed

setTimeout('checkForNewMessages()', xxx);

do we need a host setting for the value?

What kind of performance impact does this have vs 3 seconds or 5 seconds?
