Changes in v1.9.5.5 BETA:

  • Admin localization (tha_watcha)
  • SQL Server 2000 compatible paging added (bbobb).
  • Added search features to the Members section.

  • Now using AutoFac IoC internally.
  • Added interfaces for services and ability to override them with modules.
  • BBCode modules improved implementation allows for nesting.
  • Updated to JS only syntax hightlighter (tha_watcha) from http://alexgorbatchev.com/SyntaxHighlighter/

Full list of bug fixes, see the tracker change log

Note: Major refactoring ahead! Web.config changes! YAF.Classes.Utils is now YAF.Utils and YAF.Classes.Core is now YAF.Core. Changes are too extensive to list here. Please remember to merge all changes with the provided example configuration files.

v1.9.5.5 requires .NET v3.5 SP1+ or .NET v4.

This release would not have been possible without all the wonderful YAF developers! [thumbup] Thanks to (in no specific order):

 tha_watcha

 bbobb

 Mek

 Kamyar

For their contributions! Great job team!

You did a great job folks. Yaf's expanding very fast. And in the right direction.
Thanks for noting me Jaben.
If at first you don’t succeed, call it version 1.0

"It's a case of RTFM.. the only problem being we don't have a manual!"

When I post FP:Mek in a topic, I'm leaving my footprint there so I can track it once I get into coding/supporting. (Yes I stole this off Ederon πŸ™‚ )

Great job!
I installed it on our test-site. But I did an SVN update and saw a performance fix.
Is this fix in the 1.9.5.5 BETA? Or is it done afterwards?
And if it didn't make that release (BETA), what is the performance fix, is it an important one? I just want to make sure if I can release it to the live site tomorrow.

Again, every day I do an SVN Update and almost with no exception I see new activities. Great!

First off, thank you for getting this beta out. Second, any timeframe as to when the official 1.9.5.5 will be available?

RTM for v1.9.5.5 is scheduled for the end of the month. But that's dependent on the issues reported on the BETA.

Dang, I was planning on sticking with v1.9.5 for the indefinite future, but the DNA, AjaxPro, namespace renaming and other items on the change list make moving to v1.9.5.5 a MUST-DO! Great job as always, guys.

Thanks,
Dave
